  • Glycerine is an ingredient that attracts and retains moisture and is largely used in baking and cake decorating. From keeping your sponge cakes deliciously moist, to improving the texture of your homemade sugarpaste, glycerine is always a handy ingredient in your baking cupboard!

Keep cakes fresher for longer

  • Before baking, add a few teaspoons of glycerine to your cake batter to keep your cakes fresher for longer.

Improves the shine and texture of royal icing

  • A bit of glycerine in royal icing adds shine and prevents your icing from becoming hard and dry. It makes the royal icing easier to apply.

Prevents sugar crystallisation

  • Prevent sugar crystallization by adding glycerine when heating sugar and water to a high temperature. Glycerine also acts as a softener in fudge, truffle and caramel.

Prevents dehydration of buttercream

  • Glycerine can prevent buttercream from drying out and forming a crust. It keeps your buttercream silky smooth and helps to add sprinkles or decorations to your cake.

Improves the texture of homemade sugar paste

  • Add a few drops of glycerine to homemade sugar paste to improve the texture and elasticity. Glycerine can also help soften older and stiffer sugar paste. Add a few drops and knead it through your sugarpaste until it’s nice and smooth again.

Orders placed before 13:00 (GMT) will be dispatched same day.
Free Next Day Delivery on all UK orders over £150 (Ex. Vat), orders below this will be subject to a small order charge of £20.00 (Inc.Vat).

International Orders
Orders placed before 13:00 (GMT) will receive a shipping quote and the order will be dispatched once the shipping cost has been paid. Shipping costs will vary depending on the size of the order and the delivery country. Delivery cost DOES NOT include import charges, customs fees or duty.
PLEASE NOTE: The minimum order value for international deliveries is £150 (ex. VAT). If the order is below this amount, no shipping options will be available at checkout.
